Here is exercise No. 3 – Left Hand Position – Horizontal Builders for Classical Guitar. The idea here is to release the pressure/tension in the left hand whenever you shift up a fret. I find this helps create a fluid left hand, more than the vertical version. I choose to put this one in my book because it focuses heavily on the 1st and 4th fingers which nicely balance the hand. Just remember to maintain your basic left hand position, stay on your fingertips, and curve the fingers. Never collapse your knuckles…
