Left Hand Slur Exercise: Vertical Builder

No. 6 – Left Hand Slur Exercise: Vertical Builder for Classical Guitar – From my pdf book 20 Favorite Exercises for Classical Guitar for beginner to intermediate classical guitarists. Includes: notation, TAB, fingerings, practice tips, video lessons. YouTube Lesson Link.

This exercise is No. 6 – Left Hand Slur Exercise: Vertical Builder. In a vertical builder you travel across the strings rather than up or down the fingerboard. This exercise is similar to No. 2 – Left Hand Position – Vertical Builders.  So it’s highly recommended that you secure your hand position before trying the slurs. Keep the slur fingers light and snappy. Slurs do not require strength. They only need a good hand position with curved fingers that hover over the frets. Play right next to the frets and snap the finger in the string from above.
