As I said last week for his recording of Villa-lobos, Li kind of reminds me of Yamashita’s style and tone: tons of risk and exciting despite being rough around the edges on occasion. I love how much risk he takes as he ‘goes for it’ plus he has some of the most impressive dynamic contrasts I’ve heard on guitar. Fantastic.
