Cristina Galietto Performs Concierto de Aranjuez by Rodrigo

Italian classical guitarist Cristina Galietto performs Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo (1901–1999). This comes via the 2026 Michele Pittaluga International Classical Guitar Competition in Alessandria, Italy where Galietto won 1st place and performing this in the final. Video via their Youtube channel. Amazing performance with excellent chamber music work and communication with the conductor and orchestra. Very impressed with how amazingly well they sync, in what was most likely, an unrehearsed competition situation.

Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez (1939) is one of the most celebrated works in the classical guitar repertoire, inspired by the gardens of the Royal Palace of Aranjuez in Spain. Written for classical guitar and orchestra, the concerto blends Spanish musical traditions with lyrical melodies and rich orchestral colours. Its famous second movement, Adagio, is particularly renowned for its haunting melody and emotional depth.
