The Best Clip-on Tuner for Classical Guitar

Guitar Tuners

Review: D’Addario Planet Waves NS Micro Tuner Clip-On.
Small and compact, I never take this tuner off the guitar. I’ve had it on there for over a year. Works great, only $11. Metronome is only visual which could be useful for some applications, I never use it. Not great for taking on and off quickly but just leave it on anyway. Buy or learn more via Amazon: NS Micro Tuner

  1. Hi, I have two of these and like them but they’re a bit hard to read. Trying the rechargeable version with the larger display. My question is about marks on the finish….I’ve had a soundhole tuner on one of my guitars for about six months (polyurethane finish) and when I took it off it left a tiny shiny strip where it had gripped the wood. Very slight but what would you recommend using as a protective layer between clip on tuners and the guitar?

    • Just some non-adhesive vinyl cling is what I would use. It will still leave a mark though, as in the finish will look newer when you peel it off as the rest gets aged more.

  2. Too small for me to read. I bought the rechargeable one from D’Addario in a bigger size and it works great and I can see it.

  3. I have this for all my guitars and second this is a great tuner! It’s small and discreet and fairly accurate. Especially helpful in tuning in noisy situations.
