Adam Kossler Plays Schlummerlied by Hugo Wolf

Adam Kossler - Guitar

American guitarist Adam Kossler plays Schlummerlied by Austrian/Slovenian composer Hugo Wolf (1860–1903), known for his lieder (art songs).Transcription by Adam Kossler. Audio and Video by the amazing Canadian guitarist/audio-visual wizard Drew Henderson. The Wiki description of Wolf’s life, poor guy but classic depressing story as lieder composers go: “Though he had several bursts of extraordinary productivity, particularly in 1888 and 1889, depression frequently interrupted his creative periods, and his last composition was written in 1898, before he suffered a mental collapse caused by syphilis.” Beautiful playing by Adam Kossler. His clear, clean playing, and very musical phrasing makes for a beautiful performance. Nice arranging too.
