Deion Cho performs Sonata Homo Ludens No.8 (2021) for guitar by Leo Brouwer (b.1939). This piece was dedicated to Deion Cho by Brouwer and is the world premiere video. This comes via Knobloch Strings and their YouTube channel. Wonderful performance by Cho with an amazing range of expression, rhythmic drive, and excellent pacing. Homo Ludens “Man who plays”. I don’t know this Sonata but on the Knobloch description is says: Based on the literary work ‘Das Glasperlenspiel’ by Hermann Hesse.
