Michael Kolk Plays Lágrima by Tárrega

Michael-Kolk-LagrimaWant to make it big? You gotta play the classics. Canadian guitarist Michael Kolk plays Lágrima by Spanish composer Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909). Luckily, no matter how many times you’ve heard Lágrima it is still a beautiful work and we are lucky to have it. Simple pieces that work on our instrument are a blessing! Kolk is a fantastic player and has played a huge range of solo repertoire and also duo rep with the the Henderson-Kolk Duo. For his latest album he plays classical guitar favourites by Albeniz, Giuliani, Bach, Barrios, Tárrega, Villa-Lobos, Brouwer, and Debussy. I reviewed it awhile back: Mosaic: Classical Guitar Favourites. Nice video here via Alma Records on YouTube.

FYI – There is sheet music here on the site for this:

But it’s difficult and expensive work. Corporations and social media have caused falling revenues across the web making it increasingly challenging for independent publishers.
