Kanahi Yamashita Plays Prelude BWV 998 by Bach

Kanahi Yamashita Plays Prelude BWV 998 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). This comes via Young Classicals on YouTube. Since her childhood in Nagasaki, Japan, Kanahi Yamashita was a member of Kazuhito Yamashita Family Quintet. I had the pleasure of meeting both Kazuhito and Kanahi Yamashita a few years back when I hosted his masterclass in Victoria. He was in Victoria recording with the world class double bass payer Gary Karr. I organized the class and had students play every movement from a Bach cello suite (his request). So we heard the whole suite but each movement by someone different. Kazuhito has always been an inspiration to me for his daring uniqueness and musicianship and Kanahi continues that with her amazing musical expression and fluid technique. Sheet music for BWV 998 can be found via Amazon: Bach Lute Suites (Koonce).
