Spanish guitarist Ricardo Gallén Plays Carora by Venezuelan composer/guitarist Antonio Lauro (1917–1986). This piece pretty much sums up what people want from South American guitar with sections of beautiful melody but all the rhythm and chord changes that keep things active. Ricardo Gallén has recorded numerous albums for Naxos and other labels including a recent complete lute works of Bach. Note to my students: you can’t sit like he does (for now anyway) but it’s actually pretty close to the regular classical/flamenco position.
