Lesson: Romance by Molino

This is a lesson from my eBook: Easy Classical Guitar Pieces- Volume One – 15 Easy Songs Ranging from Renaissance to Romantic. PDF Download with Notation & Notation + TAB Edition, Fingering, Online Video Lessons for Each Piece. Approximate Grade Level: Post-Method Book to Grade 3. YouTube Lesson Link.

Romance by Francesco Molino (1768-1847) from his method for guitar. Although Molino is close in dates to Carulli, I’ve placed him in the Romantic era due to the musical language of this particular piece. This Romance has a nice melody and arpeggiated accompaniment. Make sure to phrase and shape the melody and have it come out more than the accompaniment and bass. From loudest to softest: melody – bass – accompaniment. A bit more rubato can be used here for expressive effect.
