The great Matthew McAllister plays Cantilène Espagnole, No. 1 from Gerbe de Fleurs Quatre Pièces faciles pour Guitare Op. 41 by José Ferrer (1835–1916). This comes via his amazing YouTube Channel where he has recently been featuring a number of student level works. Go subscribe to his channel now!

He’s playing from my free sheet music edition which you can download. It’s great to hear professional players play works that students can play as there is so much to learn in terms of musical ideas and quality. It really brings these little pieces to life. I’m super interested in finding more relatively easy works that hit the sweet spots in terms of musical composition, range, and how well they highlight the guitar.
